Batasan Istimta' dengan Istri Ketika Haid Perspektif Fiqh Islam
Keywords:
istimta’, menstruation, fiqh, marital relationship, sharia limitationsAbstract
The relationship between husband and wife in Islamic teachings is regulated through a set of sharia-based provisions aimed at preserving dignity, welfare, and balance in the rights and obligations of both parties. One issue that frequently arises concerns the limits of physical intimacy, particularly forms of istimta’ or marital affection, when the wife is experiencing menstruation. This article seeks to examine the boundaries of istimta’ during menstruation from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, drawing upon evidence from the Qur’an, Prophetic traditions, and the opinions of classical Islamic legal schools. The findings indicate that although menstruation is a natural biological condition experienced by women, Islamic law prescribes certain restrictions that must be observed in marital interactions. These regulations are intended to uphold moral integrity, purity, and ethical conduct within marriage. The consensus among scholars in addressing this issue in a balanced manner reflects a deeper understanding of women’s natural conditions and underscores the importance of maintaining a harmonious marital relationship, even during menstruation
