Abstract

Handwashing is an easy and effective way to prevent disease. Some of cleaning products such as bath soap, laundry and dish soap contain chemical which have a negative impact to environment. The solution is to look for alternative soap ingredients that are more ecofriendly. Household organic wastes such as fruit peels and vegetable scraps are known to be used as ecoenzymes through the fermentation process. Ecoenzyme can be used as a cleaning fluid and an alternative to natural disinfectants. This activity aims to provide counseling and training to PKK women to process ecoenzyme into ecoenzyme liquid soap which easier to apply as hand washing soap. The process is very easy and simple. Ecoenzyme is mixed into methyl ester sulfonate (MES) which has been stirred and heated first. The resulting ecoenzyme liquid soap has a slightly thick texture, brown color and has a fresh scent.
