This study focuses on the Bugis community residing along the East Coast of Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency in Jambi Province and the coastal areas of Indragiri Hilir Regency in Riau Province, both located on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. The study examines the continued practice of the Uang Panai tradition in Bugis wedding ceremonies in the coastal region that connects the two provinces.

The research method used was qualitative, employing observation and interviews, as well as secondary data through literature review. In terms of the origin of uang panai', it differs greatly from its initial form as a form of appreciation for women, transforming into a spending currency that has turned it into a capitalist economic concept wrapped in the siri' culture. The results lead to gender inequality, where Bugis women must increase their value to be considered worthy of a high bride price. Additionally, Men must prepare themselves to become actors who will be pressured to be economically capable, as the amount of dowry determined by the woman's family is an absolute requirement that must be fulfilled in Bugis society's marriage tradition to preserve the culture of Siri' (shame).
2023-12-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.ucy.ac.id/index.php/gemi/article/view/2153 PENGGUNAAN SARANA DAN PRASARANA UNIT KEGIATAN MAHASISWA PECINTA ALAM DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI NON-AKADEMIK MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS COKROAMINOTO YOGYAKARTA 2023-12-30T03:12:36+00:00 Lely Nurarifah [email protected] Imam Machali [email protected] Musakal Musakal [email protected] Agryanda Agryanda [email protected]
This research was conducted to determine the use and utilization of facilities and infrastructure in supporting the non-academic achievements of students who enter and become members of Mapala Unisco. History in Indonesia records that only a few political parties carry women as their general chairmen, one of the parties that carry women's general chairman is PSI. PSI appointed Grace Natalie as chairman. The low role of women in politics is the focus of Grace Natalie's leadership at PSI, in addition to focusing on young people and across religions. This research uses library research, namely collecting data by understanding and studying sources from various literature related to the research. Grace Natalie as a leader tries to lead PSI with two types of leadership, namely transformative and feminine leadership types. This type of transformative leadership is seen in the innovation and vision carried out by Grace Natalie, namely by showing a millennial face with millennial-style greetings, ways of dressing, and jokes and recruiting candidates transparently and without dowries directly through social media. Feminism leadership is seen in PSI's focus on the role and representation of women in the world of politics and providing special facilities for women in the PSI office.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.ucy.ac.id/index.php/gemi/article/view/2156 PEMANFAATAN PERPUSTAKAAN RAUSYANFIKR DALAM MENDUKUNG PROGRAM MASYARAKAT EPISTEMOLOG ISLAM (MEI) DI PONDOK PESANTREN MURTADHA MUTHAHHARI YOGYAKARTA” 2023-12-30T03:17:16+00:00 Musakal Musakal [email protected] Lely Nurarifah [email protected] Rosdiana Rosdiana [email protected]
Libraries have played an important role in providing a place to experience and increase interest in reading. Social capital is required as an initial asset for empowerment in social walfare efforts. Just like in the case of Bawuran Village, there is potential among the youth that needs to be empowered through the youth organization, known as karang taruna. Therefore, the need for social capital as a tool assess the extent of the empowerment of the Bawuran Village karang taruna organization in carrying out its functions and duties is crucial. This research aims to determine the analysis of social capital in the empowerment of the Bawuran karang taruna organization. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive analysis research type. The data collection methods employed include observation, interviews, and documentation. Subsequently, the data analysis method used is based on Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research indicate that in the trust component of the karang taruna organization, there is still a lack of trust. In the norm component of the empowerment of the karang taruna organization, deviations from individual youth will result in reprimands. Social networks collaborate well from within the village, such as the village government, disaster preparedness village, and youth in the hamlet. Meanwhile, from outside the village, it consists of the Social Affairs Agency, Agriculture Agency, Cultural Agency, BNN, and Djarum76.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.ucy.ac.id/index.php/gemi/article/view/2169 PERAN AGAMA DALAM MENCIPTAKAN STEREOTIPE MASYARAKAT (STUDI KASUS LAKI-LAKI YANG BERAMBUT PANJANG DI DUSUN SUNTALANGU) 2023-12-30T03:12:37+00:00 A. Irman Maulana Sy [email protected] Subaidi Subaidi [email protected]
Humans are social creatures who live side by side. Society consists of individuals with diverse characters and visions of life. The diversity of character and vision of each individual makes it vulnerable to create conflict. Therefore, these individuals create groups in order to survive in social life. A group generally has the same vision or views regarding various problems, both formal and material. The aim is to strengthen ties between one another, thereby creating harmony within the group. However, on the other hand, the formation of a group indicates that there is another group which had fewer members, would become a minority. People with long hair are an example of a minority in Suntalangu, East Lombok Regency. The community group in this hamlet really adheres to the values taught in the Islamic religion in implementing them in social life. However, in practice, these community groups often have a narrow view, thereby eliminating the values of inclusiveness in viewing a problem. This research is qualitative with a case study approach. This research aims to determine the role of religion in creating societal stereotypes of men with long hair in Suntalangu, East Lombok Regency. By knowing the role of religion in creating societal stereotypes, it is hoped that we can increase inclusiveness between individuals in social life.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://jurnal.ucy.ac.id/index.php/gemi/article/view/2170 PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN VIDEO PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MENGGUNAKAN SOFTWARE FILMORA PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS COKROAMINOTO YOGYAKARTA 2023-12-30T03:12:37+00:00 Aji Permana Putra [email protected] Yenny Anggreini Sarumaha [email protected] Nur Dina Meylaila Khasanah [email protected] Dian Khairiani [email protected]
In today's learning process, we are required to be able to adapt to the digital world. One of the points to pay attention to is making learning videos. Students in the latest curriculum are required to be creative and produce learning videos. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out training in making learning videos on mathematics subjects with the help of Filmora video editing software to then upload them to the YouTube channel. The implementation of the service is aimed at final (seventh) semester students with the hope that when they graduate and finish studying and enter the world of work in the education sector, they will be equipped with optimal abilities, one of which is being able to produce learning videos. The first thing that the service lecturer does is observe students who will be given training, specifically students in the seventh semester of the Mathematics Education study program by giving pre-tests and post-tests. From the pre-test results, it is known that before the treatment (training) was carried out, the value of understanding learning videos was 30%, understanding the use of learning video software 20% and understanding channels for uploading learning videos on the internet 30%. After training and making learning videos, student understanding increased to 70% for learning videos, 60% for learning video software, and 70% for uploading learning videos on the internet. It is hoped that activities like this will be carried out regularly in order to provide education and enlightenment to parties who need it.
2023-12-30T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
